Recharging Nature with Meaning for a New Environmental Ethics
Environmental problems are primarily the result of human actions, influenced by a perspective that regards nature and humans as separate entities and emphasizes human beings' ability to dominate and exploit the natural world for their own purposes. The outcome has been catastrophic, as mankind faces environmental problems all over the world. To address this, humans must restructure their relationship with nature and return to a mindset of stewardship. This requires a reconfiguration of the view of science and nature. Recharging nature with meaning is necessary to establish a meaningful relationship with it, which can lay the foundation for new environmental ethics based on stewardship and respect for the natural world.
